Site notes that land on the right job

Right now your job records live in a camera roll, three notes apps and a text thread with yourself. TradieCue is a job notes app with job-aware memory: say what happened on site and the note lands on that job — where it can become a quote line, a variation or your side of a dispute later.

A note you can't find is money you can't prove

The expensive moment isn't when you forget to note something — most tradies do note it, somewhere. It's three weeks later, when the customer queries the invoice and the detail that settles it is a photo somewhere in 4,000 photos, or a note titled “Tuesday” in an app you stopped using. The information existed; it just wasn't attached to the job. So you wear the discount, because digging isn't worth the argument.

Say it once, it's filed

With TradieCue, a note is one rough voice message to Timmy — no folder to choose, no filename to invent:

You say, on site

“Nguyen bathroom — heads up, the customer's supplying their own tapware and the mixer they've bought is wall-mounted but the rough-in is deck-mounted. Told them it won't fit as-is, they're deciding. Also access: side gate code is 4412 and keep the dog inside.”

Timmy files

Job note — Nguyen bathroom renovation

Customer-supplied tapware: purchased mixer is wall-mounted; existing rough-in is deck-mounted — flagged to customer as incompatible, awaiting their decision
Access: side gate code 4412; dog to stay inside

Sample note for illustration. Notes stay on the job and stay editable — nothing is shared with anyone unless you share it.

The note lands on the Nguyen job, next to the quote and everything else you've captured there. You can speak it, type it, or paste it in, and attach photos of the mixer and the rough-in while you're standing in front of them. When the customer's choice turns into extra work, the paper trail already exists — dated, in your words, before anything went wrong.

Notes that turn into paperwork

This is the difference between job notes and a notes app. A note in TradieCue isn't a dead end — it's raw material Timmy can use on that job:

When an important detail is missing (a price, a customer, a scope item), Timmy asks rather than making it up. And when a note does become a customer-facing draft, nothing is sent automatically. Every quote, variation and follow-up is a draft the user reviews, edits and shares themselves.

End-of-day brain-dumps work too — talk through the day once from the ute and let the notes land on their jobs. That habit, and what it replaces, is the subject of end-of-day tradie admin and voice notes for tradie admin.

Common questions

How is this different from Apple Notes or a voice memo app?

Two ways: notes are filed to the job rather than a chronological pile, and they're usable — Timmy can turn them into quote, variation and follow-up drafts on that job. A recording of you talking is not the same as a record you can hand a customer. See the full comparison in TradieCue vs a notes app.

Can I attach photos to a note?

Yes. Notes can be voice, typed or pasted text, with optional photos — so the picture of the dodgy rough-in lives with the words explaining it.

Can I take notes in Chinese?

Yes — English, Chinese or mixed. Customer-facing documents drafted from those notes come out in professional English. See bilingual job notes.

Do my notes get sent to the customer?

No. Notes are yours. Only documents you explicitly review and share go anywhere, and even those are drafts until you send them.

Is TradieCue a full job-management system?

No — no scheduling, timesheets or GPS tracking. It's the capture-and-paperwork layer: notes in, documents out, on the right job.
